Irma Aces scored two goals in the third period to edge the Tofield Satellites
2-1 in Battle River Hockey League playoff action Saturday night. The win gives
the Aces a 1-0 lead in the best of five series. Bryan Fitzgerald scored a shorthanded goal five and a half minutes into the first period to give the Satellites a 1-0 lead. The lead held up until the third period when Trevor Anquist tied the game with a power play marker with 12:54 left. Then, Blair Fenton scored the game winner with a shot high on the blocker side with 5:49 left giving Irma the 2-1 win. The Satellites went 0 for 10 on the power play while the Aces went 1 for 6. The series now shifts to Mannville for games Sunday and Tuesday this week. |
