26-08) The Tofield Satellites continued their march towards the playoffs by posting
wins over Big Valley and Coronation on the weekend. Saturday night on home ice, the Satellites scored three goals in the third period on their way to a 4-1 win over the Coronation Royals. Josh Lyons opened the scoring cashing in on a rebound with just 26 seconds left in the second period. Chad Anderson and Brian Tavaroli with a pair, tallied in the third to give the Satellites their 12th victory of the season. Dallas Erickson replied for the Royals. Friday in Big Valley, the Satellites skated to a 5-1 win over the Big Valley Oil Kings. Tyson Schielke and Brian Tavaroli scored two goals each, while Pete Neufeld added a single. Defenceman Bryan Lewis added three assists. For a recap, click here Tavaroli's goal with 11:39 left in the second was the 500th goal for the Satellites since the team joined the Battle River Hockey League for the 2003-2004 season. It also stood as the game winner. The game took just 1 hour and 45 minutes to play. Big Valley's Terry Michalevich took the game's only penalty: He went off for hooking with nine minutes left in the first period. The Oil Kings were able to kill off the power play. Michalevich also scored the lone goal for Big Valley, tying the game 1-1 with 14:25 left in the second. | ||||
